Possessing one of the largest flowers of our North American Penstemons, the Beardtongue produces a profusion of lavender flowers in late spring. Easily one of the showiest of all Penstemons, it is a favorite nectar source for hummingbirds. Grows two to four feet tall on dry, sandy or rocky soil.
