This is a very large upright perennial with broad leaves and thick stems. It produces several large rounded flower clusters in late spring; spreads well from seed.  Common throughout the Tallgrass Region.  This plant can cause dermatitis on contact.  Widely used by Native Americans for medicinal reasons and as an eatable vegetable.  This is the largest species of the carrot family in North America.  Very leafy plant can grow to 10 feet with a massive stem and leaves up to a foot across. Distinctive odor.
