Achillea millefolium -- (Alaskan Yarrow)

Show all known sources of Seeds

Alaskan Yarrow can be identified at long distances because of the large flat-topped clusters of white flower heads. Yarrow is a member of the sunflower family (Asteraceae) which is native to Europe and has naturalized throughout the United States.  It has fern-like foliage with white flower heads.  Propagation is from rhizomes or seeds.  This drought resistant, perennial plant is good in a naturalized flower garden.  The healing powers of yarrow were said to have been discovered by the Greek warrior Achilles.
