Free Wildflower Seed

To date I have not found any mechanical device which can collect the many diverse types of wildflower seeds which do not all ripen at the same time. Hence, the collecting of these wildflower seeds requires much human manual labor. For many years I have collected the wildflower seeds from our properties only to plant the seeds the following years. However, in recent years, I have found that I cannot collect all the wildflower seeds because there are just too many. Hence, I have begun paying the local teenagers to help collect seeds. Well now this process is becoming too expensive for the amount of seeds that are available. Hence, I have come up with a new solution.
For 2007, I am willing to let people come and collect these wildflower seeds if in return they give me one half of what they have collected.
This would be an ideal situation for someone who wants to start a wildflower prairie of their own and who lives within 50 miles of Welch Minnesota. The cost of wildflower seed is most expensive. The seed will last many years if kept cool, dry and dark. It's an easy job which is done in a beautiful setting surrounded by hills. Most seeds ripen in the month of September. Since I would have to spend time teaching people about plant identification, I ask that only people apply that are willing to collect seeds for an entire day or more. If interested then Contact Us
